The massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday 25 April, affecting at least 8m people and left many homeless. Nepal’s major cities, including the capital Kathmandu, have been badly damaged and rural areas near the epicentre have been completely cut off by avalanches.

The Nepalese Society and RAG are raising money to support the relief effort and are coordinating collections from the University of Sheffield and Students' Union community.

The Society are also keen to support the 'Pray for Nepal' fundraising which aims to fund restorations of the iconic heritage monuments that have been destroyed or damaged, and hope to repair or at least maintain their integrity.

Thank you for your support.
